Hello. Welcome to my blog!

I am a passionate learner, teacher and vice principal in the Comox Valley School District.

As a big picture thinker, I am energized by and strive to see patterns and connections between district initiatives, professional learning and what we endeavour to create with our students and in our classrooms.

As we work to transform education, I believe we need to utilize emerging research in the new sciences, such as in systems thinking, and fractal geometry, and apply these concepts to social organizations, to go beyond the industrial model of education. I am using my blog as a way to express my ideas and connections on this topic.

I am in the process of completing my credentials as an Agency Trainer in the Adaptive Schools work as I wholeheartedly believe this work coincides with emerging research and is essential for supporting educational change.

Lucinda Wolters

“The very best organizations have a fractal quality to them. An observer of such an organization can tell what the organization’s values and ways of doing business are by watching anyone, whether it be a production floor employee or a senior manager. There is a consistency and predictability to the quality of behaviour. No matter where we look in those organizations, self-similarity is found in its people, in spite of the complex range of roles and levels.”
